DESCRIPTION
Decoustics offers two types of vinyl
1. A standard 20 oz./linear yard (567 grams/ linear meter) vinyl wall covering. This product requires perforating to achieve acoustical performance. The standard perforation pattern produces an open area of 18%. This vinyl is bonded to the panel core, the panel edges and a minimum of 1" (25 mm) onto the back side of the panel.
2. A 12 oz./linear yard (340 grams/linear meter) vinyl that is manufactured with "voids" inherent in the vinyl, providing an acoustically transparent finish. This vinyl currently can only be used for raw edge lay-in panels.

LIMITATIONS
As a completed panel the 20 oz. vinyl manufactured with perforations has a Class C flame spread (greater than 75).

DESIGN CONSIDERATIONS
Perforated Vinyl: If viewed from a distance of 6'-0" (2 m), perforations in vinyl are not readily visible, and in fact are very difficult to see when as close as 3'-0" (1 m).
Custom Prints/Patterns: Decoustics can accommodate requirements such as murals, corporate logos, other specific designs, matched motifs across abutting panels, and similar custom ideas using the latest computer printing technology.

MAINTENANCE
Refer to appropriate Decoustics "Cleaning & Maintenance Instructions" for specific data.

Note: The information provided in this Data Sheet is accurate to the best of our knowledge at the time of printing. However, we reserve the right to make changes when necessary without further notification. Suggested applications may need to be modified to conform with local building codes and conditions. We cannot accept responsibility for products that are not used, or installed, to our specifications.
Note: Only handle panels wearing clean, lightweight, white gloves during installation. Follow manufacturer's printed instructions for installation as well as field cutting of panels.

RECOMMENDED USES
High maintenance areas where the panel finish will require cleaning on a regular basis. Especially recommended for areas of high humidity such as swimming pools.
Can be applied to nearly all Decoustics panel types.
Can be applied to flat, shaped, and 2- dimensional pre-curved panels.
Ceilings and walls.

FEATURES AND ADVANTAGES
Neatly tailored and heat sealed at corners.
Provides good acoustical transparency when either perforated or manufactured with "voids".
All individual panel components (including the vinyl) have a class A flame spread (ASTM E84). As a composite panel the vinyl manufactured with "voids" has a Class A flame spread (less than 25). See Limitations.

PROPERTIES TESTING
There are literally thousands of vinyl finishes on the market. Unfortunately not all are suitable. Decoustics test program identifies vinyls for suitability, risks, and application. All vinyl finishes specified, that have not previously been tested, are tested by Decoustics and any limitations are disclosed to enable re-selection by the designer.

Vinyls are tested for:
- Bondability to core
- Adhesive "bleed-through"
- Adhesive compatibility
- Telegraphing of core face irregularities
- Edge upholstery characteristics (adhesive compatibility and face bulging via residual memory)

Providing a purchase order is issued, there is no charge for vinyl testing. One linear yard of specified vinyl is required, shipped to Decoustics. Alternatively, consultation with Decoustics prior to final vinyl selection is recommended.

Decoustics cannot guarantee selected vinyl finishes will remain bubble-free if testing uncovers potential limitations. An alternate vinyl finish is always recommended in these instances.

CLEANING OF VINYL COVERED ACOUSTICAL PANELS
1. Using a hard-bristled brush and a small amount of warm water, scrub vinyl with a low-sudsing detergent.
2. Rinse clean, using a sponge and a small amount of warm water. Change water frequently.
3. Dry vinyl with a soft, lint-free cloth or towel. Do not leave panels wet for any prolonged period of time.
